T.I.: Dime Trap
T.I. wanted to go big in launching his last album. So we went big and trolled the White House. All they had to do was ignore us. That’s it. But they couldn’t help themselves. The ensuing controversy led to a week of media coverage for T.I., a response from the White House, and a meteoric rise in the Billboard charts for his album Dime Trap.
The two music videos that followed involved a 6 year-old stealing T.I.’s Rolls-Royce and a shootout in a Black western dystopia. The films were written up across the music publication spectrum, including a printed piece in Rolling Stone.

Dime Trap revealed a lot about T.I.’s personal history: as a kid raised hard on the streets of Atlanta who later became the godfather of trap music, a stirrer of controversy, and a mentor and promoter of now-household names. He, and we, wanted the album artwork and website to reflect that complexity.

When it was all over, T.I. commissioned the internationally recognized artist Kris Kuksi to create an original piece for his personal collection.
